Alderman Robinson Ward 4 Research Analyst Intern

Organization Overview:
Chicago Aldermanic Ward 4, which includes parts of the Douglas, Kenwood, and Near South Side neighborhoods is served by Alderman Lamont J. Robinson. Before winning the 2023 election for his current seat, Lamont served as a state representative for the 5th district in the Illinois House of Representatives from 2019 to 2023.

Internship Summary:
As a Research Analyst Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in local government and play an integral role in our office's mission. This internship offers a unique opportunity to make a difference in the community, develop valuable skills, and gain insight into the workings of local government. Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on various issues affecting the ward, such as housing, education, and economic development.
- Analyze data and provide insights to support informed decision-making.
- Learn to navigate city resources and provide assistance to constituent issues or requests.
- Contribute to the development and evaluation of policies that impact our community.
- Help draft policy recommendations, position papers, and reports.

Qualifications:
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- An interest in local government, public policy, or community development.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

About the Supervisor:
Your supervisor will be Chief of Staff, Dr. Sabha Abour.

Location and Modality:
This internship requires mostly in-person work. The offices are located at 121 N La Salle St Chicago, IL 60602 and 928 E 43rd St, Chicago, IL 60653.

Start and End Date:
The internship will run from June 10 to September 27, with the flexibility to accommodate specific scheduling needs.
