Voting ambassadors are in charge of mobilizing voters, directing students to UChiVotes content, and engaging their personal networks and RSOs. Come to a voting ambassador training, and use your voice to help people vote!

W+, Women and Gender Minorities in Public Service, works to create a space that empowers female, nonbinary, and trans students to explore and cultivate their passion for public service.
The Gate, UChicago’s political newspaper, publishes long-form articles on university, local, national, and world politics. Senior Reporters pursue long-form articles on topics of interest. Columnists (a new program at The Gate!) will write regular opinion articles on a topic of interest. The Junior Reporter Program covers the fundamentals of good article writing and will give you the opportunity write an article on a subject of your choice.
Bridge volunteers provide incarcerated individuals with voter education at Cook County Jail and and creative writing workshops at the Illinois Youth Center. Bridge also puts on events focused on criminal justice.
TechTeam works to create websites, build apps, and create digital tools for community organizations and local government. Tech Team also puts on events focused on civic tech, and provides tech workshops for you to grow your skills.
Chicago Style puts on speaker events focused on Chicago and Illinois politics. Gain experience in event production while bringing together local journalists, activists, politicians, community members and students.
The International Policy Program (IPP) is a student-run event committee that brings experts, journalists, government officials and more to campus to discuss foreign policy and international politics.
Throughout the academic year, the Institute of Politics challenges UChicago students to propose solutions to major issues in local, national, and global politics.
This fall, we're challenging students to write their own piece of bipartisan legislation that could pass the upcoming lame-duck session. The winning team will be awarded $500 per team member. The deadline to register your team is Friday, October 18 at 11:59 p.m. No policy experience required!
Teams must submit their proposals by Friday, November 7 at 11:59 p.m.
Young people will play a pivotal role in shaping the country’s direction in the 2024 elections and beyond. The IOP 24 campaign is a unique set of opportunities to help UChicago students get involved in the months leading up to the 2024 elections.
The IOP provides hundreds of paid politics and public service internships during the summer and the academic year.
