Overview of Organization:
Grove Climate Group is a boutique firm based in Carrboro, NC, dedicated to helping organizations achieve their climate goals. With over 30 years of experience in public policy work, primarily within the U.S. Congress, our staff possesses a wealth of knowledge. We collaborate with organizations of all sizes, including major national environmental organizations, non-profits, a multinational offshore wind development company, universities, and startups. At Grove Climate Group, we maintain a broad network of political and policy professionals in Washington, D.C., and across the country.

Internship Summary:
Join Grove Climate Group for a dynamic summer 2024 internship, offering opportunities for remote or hybrid work. As an intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting the President and Vice President in various aspects of the firm's work. Responsibilities may include existing client management, research and development of work products such as memos and analysis, attending briefings, and tracking administrative and legislative action at the federal and state levels. This internship also provides the chance for candidates to explore and develop their major project within the framework of the firm's overall mission.

Responsibilities:
- Support the President and Vice President in various aspects of the firm's work.
- Manage existing client relationships.
- Conduct research and develop work products, including memos and analysis.
- Attend briefings and stay informed about administrative and legislative actions.
- Track developments at the federal and state levels.
- Explore and develop a major project within the firm's mission.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and reliable.
- Excellent written and communication skills with keen attention to detail.
- Interest in energy, environment, climate change, and/or science policy.
- Ability to work remotely or in a hybrid setting.

About the Supervisor:
Eric Fins is the Vice President of Grove Climate Group, LLC. Eric joined the team in February 2023 after nearly 15 years of service in the U.S. House of Representatives in a variety of capacities. Most recently, Eric was the Deputy Staff Director of the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis (SCCC) during the 118th Congress. Over the course of his Congressional career, Eric has worked professionally for five members of Congress, spanning the Democratic party both geographically and across the political spectrum.

Location, Modality:
This internship will be mostly remote. Our team maintains an office space in Chapel Hill, NC, but office attendance is ad hoc.

Start and End Date:
Summer internships will take place during the period of June 10 - September 27 with specific dates to be determined by the employer partner and intern during the interview process.
