Overview of Organization: Lilette Advisors is a boutique, full-service strategic advisory firm deeply rooted in the intersection of government, media, and politics. Constantly changing dynamics in the economic, political, and media landscapes can be difficult to navigate without experience and perspectives on the people, policy, and process shaping Washington.
Internship Summary: Lilette Advisors is a strategic advisory firm that navigates the complexities of government, media, and political landscapes. As an intern, responsibilities include supporting the client team with research, donor prospecting, event planning, and maintaining records. Interns are expected to manage various administrative tasks, meet deadlines, and assist in preparing donor materials and briefings. Strong writing, communication, and collaboration skills are essential, along with a commitment to diversity and inclusion. The internship also brings the opportunity to develop experience in nonprofit leadership and development.
Client Service Support
- Uphold client service standards, expectations, and values in all facets of work
- Support client team (Partner, SVP, VP, Associate) with all aspects of client work and deliverables and receive, triage, and reply to project needs and requests promptly
- Work closely with the VP and Associate to create research plans and independently conduct qualitative and quantitative research, as well as analysis, to identify useful insights and trends
- Join client meetings and check-ins as needed, join the weekly firm call
- For clients: conduct individual, foundation, and corporate donor prospecting
- For clients: provide support for briefings and events, including drafting language, keeping event documentation in order, and other pertinent information
- For clients: ongoing data entry; assist with keeping CRM and development operating systems up to date with donor records
- Conduct donor and political research and draft donor-facing materials as needed
- Other development projects as needed
- Research industry and sector best practices, competitive landscape, and other key topics to effectively fulfill the role
Project Management
- Meet all assigned deadlines
- Provide ongoing administrative support to the client team, including scanning and printing, locating files and resources, and other activities requested
- Meet regularly with the VP to check in on progress
Experience & Qualifications:
- Current undergraduate or graduate student interested in development, fundraising, and supporting nonprofit organizations, campaigns, or policy initiatives
- Self-starter who is excited at the prospect of building-out development operations, enjoys achieving ambitious goals, and is a creative problem solver
- Collaborative team player with experience working across a team

- Impeccable writing, editing, presentation, and oral communication skills

About the Supervisor: Jordan Weir is Vice President of Philanthropy & Strategic Partnerships at Lilette Advisors, where she supports clients with political, foundation, and major gift fundraising, grant writing, and nonprofit operations. Jordan has worked at various nonprofit organizations, including as a Development Officer for Institutional Giving at B Lab, an economic systems change organization, and as the Development Manager at Building Back Together where she worked to further the Biden-Harris Administration’s legislative agenda. Jordan started her career as the Development Coordinator at Maternity Care Coalition, an organization working to advance maternal and child health in the Philadelphia area. Jordan holds a Master’s of Science in Nonprofit Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. in International Studies from Washington College and lives outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Start and End Date: Summer internships will take place during the period of June 2 - September 26 with specific dates to be determined by the employer partner and intern during the interview process.
