The Shifting Politics on Israel

Even before the ceasefire in Gaza, Americans and lawmakers in both parties were becoming increasingly critical of Israel and eager to reassess America’s relationship with its long-time ally. Protests erupted among Israeli citizens who wished to see an end to the war and both Israelis and Palestinians celebrated the new ceasefire in hopes of a permanent peace. What has changed and why have some stakeholders remained firm in their posture even as support for the war eroded globally? How will domestic politics and foreign policy continue to evolve in the United States?
