Join the IOP as we welcome CNN commentators Al Cardenas, former Chairman of the American Conservative Union, and Ana Navarro, Republican strategist, for a wide-ranging conversation on the fractures inside the GOP, the 2018 midterm elections, and the divisions in American politics and society. Mr. Cardenas served in the administrations of both Presidents Reagan and George H. W. Bush. As former Chairman of the Republican Party of Florida, he has represented the State of Florida at every Republican National Convention since 1976. He is now a senior partner at Squire Patton Boggs and The Advocacy Group at Cardenas Partners. Ms. Navarro has served as the national Hispanic co-chair for Gov. Jon Huntsman’s 2012 presidential campaign, as well as the national co-chair of Sen. John McCain’s Hispanic Advisory Council during his 2008 campaign. Previously, she worked as Gov. Jeb Bush’s first Director of Immigration Policy before becoming Ambassador to the United Nation’s Human Rights Commission in 2001. This conversation will be moderated by Institute Director David Axelrod.
