Sanctuary or Stomping Grounds? Chicago in the Second Age of Trump

It’s a whole new country – but is it a whole new city?

Featuring IL State Rep. Kam Buckner and UChicago political science professor Tom Clark, this Chicago Style speaker panel will delve into the impact of the 2024 federal, state, and local elections on Chicago. We will discuss the relationships between President Donald Trump, Gov. JB Pritzker, and Mayor Brandon Johnson, and how residents of the city and state are affected. We will also look at the work of the newly elected school board and any changes in the makeup and functioning of our local legislatures. What’s changed so far, and what can we expect? Lunch served.
