Former Lieutenant Governor of Louisiana and former Mayor of New Orleans Mitch Landrieu launched the E Pluribus Unum Fund with one ambitious goal: to bring people together across the American South around the issues of race, equity, economic opportunity and violence, proving the American motto that "out of many, one,". His organization undertook an extensive survey of 28 Southern communities to map the issues of race, equity, economic development, and education, with a focus on changing the narrative around discrimination and finding common ground. Now join the IOP as we welcome Mayor Landrieu in conversation with former IOP Pritzker Fellow and former South Carolina State Representative Bakari Sellers. Together, they’ll discuss the the ways in which race and class have divided the South and and the goal of knocking down these barriers to find a way forward.
