Midterm Mayhem: Is the Blue Wave Coming?

In the final weeks before the 2018 midterm elections, what are the important races to watch? Which campaign strategies and messages have been the most surprising – or the most effective? Will the so-called “blue wave” of Democratic victories flip control of the House of Representatives, or will support for President Trump’s agenda preserve Republican control of Congress? Join the IOP as we welcome former Congressmen and current IOP Pritzker Fellows Tom Davis (R-VA) and Steve Israel (D-NY) for an eleventh-hour analysis of the 2018 midterm elections. Mr. Davis represented Virginia’s 11th congressional district from 1995-2008, during which he served as Chair of the National Republican Congressional Committee. Mr. Israel represented New York’s 3rd congressional district from 2001-2017, and he served as Chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. This program will be moderated by Caitlin Huey-Burns, political reporter for CBS News and former national political reporter for RealClearPolitics.
