- Khizr Khan, Odette Yousef
Join the IOP as we welcome Mr. Khizr Khan for a discussion of his book, An American Family. Mr. Khan gained national attention at the 2016 Democratic National Convention, where he gave an impassioned speech in memory of his son, a U.S. Army captain who was killed in Iraq. He also criticized then-candidate Donald Trump’s rhetoric toward Muslims and immigrants. His book follows his journey from Pakistan to America, exploring his admiration for the United States’ founding documents and reflecting on his family’s place in American society. This conversation will be moderated by Odette Yousef of WBEZ. Book sales and signing to follow.
