Impeachment Trial Meet Up with Prof. William Baude

Please join the IOP and Prof. William Baude for an informal chat about the second Impeachment trial of former President Trump. What do we expect the trial will look like? How will it differ from President Trump’s first Impeachment trial? Is it possible that witnesses will be called to testify? And what if anything does the pretrial brief filed by President Trump’s legal team tell us about their strategy?

Prof. Baude is a Professor of Law and Aaron Director Research Scholar at the University of Chicago Law School, where he teaches federal courts, constitutional law, and conflicts of law. He received his BS in Mathematics from the University of Chicago and his JD from Yale Law School. He then clerked for then- Judge Michael McConnell on the United States Court of Appeals, and Chief Justice John Roberts on the United States Supreme Court.
