Faith and Democracy: The Role of Religion in American Politics

The IOP and the University of Chicago Divinity School’s Martin Marty Center for the Public Understanding of Religion welcomes Rachel Mikva, Professor of Jewish Studies at the Chicago Theological Seminary; Russell Moore, IOP Pritzker Fellow and Public Theologian at Christianity Today; Asma Uddin, author of the _Politics of Vulnerability _and religious freedom expert for a candid discussion on the intersection of faith and politics. Is faith good for democracy? Are those with deeply held religious beliefs less likely to become polarized politically? And what’s the real meaning of “Separation of Church and State?”
