Shirley Chisholm, who five decades ago became the first African American woman in Congress and later the first Black woman to run for president, is among the most regenerative political figures in modern American history. Hear from three women in public service who trace their careers to the iconic announcement during the 1968 campaign for Congress: “Fighting Shirley Chisholm Coming Through.”
