Join the IOP as we welcome former Director of Central Intelligence John Deutch for a conversation on the role of the intelligence community in the 21st Century. Drawing on his years of experience, Mr. Deutch will discuss the challenges posed by North Korea and Russia, the priority responsibilities of the Intelligence Community, as well as the relationship between intelligence agencies, the executive branch, and congress. Before President Clinton appointed him Director of Central Intelligence in 1995, Mr. Deutch served as Deputy Secretary of Defense; he also held multiple positions in the U.S. Department of Energy. Now, Mr. Deutch is an emeritus Institute Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Leading the discussion is Rachel Bronson, Executive Director and Publisher, Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists.
