Join the IOP as we welcome Jake Sullivan and Frances Townsend for a conversation on the foreign policy challenges facing the United States. Drawing on their years of national security experience under different administrations, Mr. Sullivan and Ms. Townsend will discuss the Iran nuclear deal, the evolution of America’s complicated relationship to Russia, and how approaches to these issues have changed throughout recent administrations. Mr. Sullivan joined Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign as a senior policy advisor after working as National Security Advisor to Vice President Biden and Director of Policy Planning at the State Department. Ms. Townsend served as Homeland Security Advisor to President Bush from 2004-2007, having held multiple positions in the Department of Justice for three administrations. This discussion will be moderated by Steve Edwards, vice president and chief content officer at WBEZ and former executive director of the IOP.
