Two years after the Hamas attack in Israel and the invasion of Gaza, Americans and lawmakers in both parties are becoming increasingly critical of Israel, and vocal in the desire to put curbs on the long-time ally. Protests have erupted among Israeli citizens who wish to see an end to the war – which the Trump administration has failed to usher to a close. What has changed and why have some stakeholders remained firm in their posture even as support for the war has eroded globally? How will domestic politics and foreign policy continue to evolve in the United States? Featuring Layla Elabed, Co-Director of the Uncommitted National Movement, journalist Emmanuelle Elbaz-Phelps, and Jeremy Ben-Ami, founder and president of J Street. Moderated by Jonathan Weisman, the New York Times. Please note that this pop-up event is open to current UC students only for in-person attendance.
