A veteran’s day conversation with Illinois Senator Tammy Duckworth, whose remarkable rise to Congress after 23 years in the Army Reserves – and the loss of both of her legs in a helicopter attack while serving in Iraq – has led her to his consequential moment for our state and nation. Outside of her longstanding work for veterans in the Senate and, before that, during two terms in the House, Senator Duckworth serves on both the Senate Armed Services Committee and the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations where she has become a frequent antagonist to Trump appointees. Moderated by IOP senior director Jennifer Steinhauer. Please note that this event is open to students only. If you are not a student, you can view the livestream on our Youtube channel.
