IOP Pritzker Fellow Ken Cuccinelli on "Logistics (AKA, the Real World) for Both Immigration & FEMA" THIS SEMINAR IS OPEN TO CURRENT UCHICAGO STUDENTS ONLY Wednesday, April 2 3:30-4:45pm We will start our discussion by moving from last week’s immigration policy discussion to the logistics of implementing that agenda to demonstrate the nuts and bolts of policy implementation, and also to appreciate the scope of President Trump’s goals in this area. We will then shift to discuss another example of logistics in government - FEMA. Acknowledging its laudable purpose, we will analyze its continued failure in the real world. I will offer some reasons why a federal FEMA model is doomed to - at best - mediocrity, but more often failure, with "failure" defined as not meeting public expectations. We will finish discussing some alternatives. Pritzker Fellows seminars are off the record and open to current UChicago students only. Seating in the IOP Living Room is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have any questions about accessibility, please contact Sarah Palmisciano (spalmisciano@uchicago.edu).
