Join our conversation with UChicago alumni currently working on Capitol Hill. Hear from two impressive UChicago alums: Sophie Hare and Kris Pittard.
Sophie will share information about her work as a Legislative Correspondent in Senator Ben Ray Luján's office, as well as her time in political fundraising and strategic communications. She'll answer questions about her IOP internship (!) in the House of Representatives, an internship at the White House, and her work with the New Mexico state legislature early in her career.
Kris has worked as a staffer with the U.S. Representatives for the past five years, and currently provides support to the House Energy and Commerce Committee Dems. Previously, Kris worked with BP in marketing analytics and completed a masters degress in energy policy at Johns Hopkins.
Our session will cover differences between House and Senate offices, how Congressional committees work, and tips to get eyes on your application.
Guest speakers will join virtually, while event attendees will gather in the IOP Living Room to engage with one another and the speakers (expect an interative format).
