Overview of Organization:
The Chicago Project on Security and Threats (CPOST) is a non-partisan research center at the University of Chicago dedicated to advancing scholarship on international politics, security, and trade.

Internship Summary:
The Chicago Project on Security and Threats (CPOST) is accepting applications for Student Research Supervisors in Summer 2024. Student research supervisors support ongoing research projects conducted by CPOST’s director and staff. Research priorities include advancing CPOST’s research on political violence in America. The student research supervisor will be responsible for managing the day-to-day research activities of a team of twenty graduate and undergraduate research assistants.

Responsibilities:
- Working with the research director to develop and implement research tasks
- Onboarding and training RAs
- Coordinating research activities
- Weekly reporting on progress
- Producing an end of quarter research presentation

Preferred Qualifications:
- A formal prerequisite for the position is at least one year of previous experience working as a CPOST research assistant.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs, Microsoft Teams online collaborative environment, and working with databases is preferred.

About the Supervisor:
Your supervisor will be Senior Research Associate, Kyle Larson.

Start and End Date:
The internship will run from June 10 to September 27, with the flexibility to accommodate specific scheduling needs.
