Overview of Organization: Public Strategies Washington (PSW) is seeking candidates for a Government Relations Intern position. As part of the PSW team, interns will provide essential support in legislative and political research, contributing to a variety of crucial projects.
Internship Summary: Interns will engage in independent research projects, providing summaries of key issues and supporting the preparation of publications, talking points, and briefings. This role requires motivated individuals capable of conducting comprehensive research and producing clear, high-quality written content with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Principals and Directors on client-facing projects, offering valuable support and assistance
- Create concise summaries of various events, including Congressional hearings, panels, webinars, and conference calls
- Research and analyze legislative developments across a broad spectrum of issue areas, notably focusing on the 2026 election
- Monitor media coverage related to client concerns, gathering essential information for the team's insights
- Extend support across other areas as required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
- Ability to research issues, analyze information, and write clearly without supervision
- Thorough knowledge of online research resources and the capacity to conduct research
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and organizational skills
- Ability to take initiative and work in a professional environmen

About the Supervisor: Angela Smith serves as Vice President & Chief of Staff for PSW, working with a variety of clients on issues relating to energy and the environment, trade, commerce, and appropriations. She also helps to oversee PSW's operations and political programming.
Location, Modality, and Commute: In Person 3 days a week - 701 8th St NW, Suite 600, Washington, DC 20001
Start/End Date: June 2 - August 1 (flexible), to be determined by the intern and the employer.
