Overview of Organization:
The Black Rock Group (BRG) is a strategic communications and public affairs firm led by Michael Dubke, Carl Forti, Brian Jones and Chris Maloney. We have a proven track record of creating effective public policy, political and strategic communications campaigns. Our team works collaboratively with clients to shape public debates through paid, earned and digital media strategies. Founded by two Western New York natives, our firm has deep connections to the Buffalo area, including the historic Black Rock neighborhood.

Internship Summary:
Black Rock Group (BRG) is seeking a dynamic summer intern to contribute to client support and team initiatives. As a strategic communications and public affairs firm, BRG boasts extensive experience in developing effective public policy, political, and strategic communications campaigns. Collaborating closely with clients, our team employs paid, earned, and digital media strategies to elevate products, services, and policy objectives.

- Research, analyze, and monitor client issues, including press, social media, and other information.
- Draft communications materials, such as press releases and digital media content.
- Experience in graphic design, website development, or social media is a plus but not required.
- Assist with administrative tasks, scheduling, and other responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong writing skills and familiarity with written communications materials and digital strategy.
- Attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of and interest in current events.
- Prior communications-related experience through a previous job or internship is a plus.

The ideal candidate is organized, outgoing, and possesses an interest in public relations, media, government, or political campaigns. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in strategic communications and public affairs.

Start and End Date:
Summer internships will take place during the period of June 10 - September 27 with specific dates to be determined by the employer partner and intern during the interview process.
