“The World is Watching: How Global Events Will Shape & Be Shaped by the 2016 Election”

As the U.S. heads toward an historic presidential election that could reshape domestic and foreign policy for decades, it’s vital to take the pulse of the rest of the world on such topics as security, terrorism, refugees, trade, global income inequality, immigration, the balance of global power, and nuclear proliferation.

A Trump or Clinton presidency will have distinct foreign policy positions and foreign policy advisers. They will present very different faces to the world on issues such as the U.S.’ involvement in conflicts. The world, in turn, is intensely interested in our election. European and Asian press, business, and government officials will be watching closely and have differing hopes and fears about the next administration.

In eight seminars, award-winning journalist Philip Revzin will explore how what’s happening in the world will affect the U.S. election, and how that election will affect the world. Revzin has followed global issues for more than 40 years as a reporter, editor and publisher. These seminars will bring stimulating guests and discussion to the IOP community at a moment when they’ve rarely been so important.
