Institute of Politics

Bridge is a student-run program through the UChicago Institute of Politics that brings civic education, voting rights workshops, and book clubs to residents of Cook County Jail. We believe civic knowledge shouldn’t stop at incarceration, and neither should community.
We’re looking for undergraduate and graduate students interested in teaching civic education and voting rights classes inside Cook County Jail, as well as serving as poll watchers during elections. No prior experience is required; just an interest in civic engagement and expanding access to civic participation.
Come to our Info Session to learn more about Bridge’s mission, programming, and how you can get involved!
Please note: This event is open only to current UChicago students.
If you have any questions about accessibility, please contact Aparna Viswanathan (apsv@uchicago.edu).
