Women in Public Service Program (WPSP)
The Women in Public Service Program (WPSP) aims to empower and prepare women-identifying students for careers in public service and related fields (including but not limited to the nonprofit, journalism, and law sectors) while building a strong peer network along the way. Programming consists of an annual Winter Leadership Institute organized by WPSP members during fall quarter, a themed spring community service program (WPSPEngage), as well as mentorship matching and peer-bonding activities throughout the academic year.
Apply to the Winter Institute! The Institute is planned by curricula groups throughout fall quarter; any women-identifying and non-binary students at the College are welcome to assist in this process. The Institute itself is application-based and consists of two-hour weekly sessions over winter quarter, first week through tenth week. The cohort participates in a mix of panels, workshops, and directed self-reflection aimed at exposing cohort-members to careers in public service and related fields, accomplished and experienced women mentors, as well as tools to combat gender inequality and gender-based barriers, among other resources.
Applications for the Winter Institute go live Thursday, November 15 and are due Tuesday, November 27. We encourage any students interested in women’s rights and leadership to apply!
