Doris Kearns Goodwin, Pulitzer-prize winning author and member of the Institute of Politics Board of Advisors, came back to campus to discuss her new book, Leadership: In Turbulent Times. Drawing on her knowledge of presidential history, Goodwin discussed how Presidents Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Lyndon B. Johnson, cultivated the qualities necessary to be a leader during their times. Furthermore, Goodwin questioned, does a leader make the times, or do the times make a leader? This converesation was moderated by David Axelrod.
